International cooperations and exchange of experiences

• Through international exchange of experiences we guarantee that our scientific knowledge and technology remain state-of-the-art (as required by Austria’s Law for Radiation Protection); it also helps us to gain new customers.
• International cooperations are carried out on behalf of the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management to prepare solutions for the final storage problem.
• Examples:

  • IAEA: dispatch of experts, workshops and meetings, collaboration in the drafting of documents, guidelines and recommendations
  • EURATOM: guidelines and safety standards, construction of final storage sites, participation in conferences and meetings, collaboration in different working groups
  • AFR - the German Atomic Forum’s Working Party on Plant and Security Questions at Research Reactors
  • Working Group Decommissioning: exchanging experiences with the decommissioning of nuclear facilities
  • EU: decommissioning activities, regional concepts for final storage
